Hello there, everyone.

I had mentioned, in passing, creating an art blog to showcase my motley crew of unfinished sketches, and mayhap some of my more sophisticated pieces in the future. And thus, I give you Wondershorts! Named after my favorite superhero, the lovely and oh-so-talented Timothy Drake, this blog will host any and every piece of art that I feel like posting for the general public's - and my own - amusement.

I'm not going to make this journal friends only unless something truly horrible happens that requires me to do so. Also, I'd like to apologize for the less than spectacular quality of the images I've managed to upload. I'm currently without a scanner and thus have to use a digital camera to post my art online. The only downsides to this are, obviously, the lighting, and the fact that I have a weird tremor when it comes to holding things still so most of my pictures end up slightly blurry.

Comments and constructive criticism are always appreciated. If I draw a superhero/character/fruit/whatever else that you absolutely abhor, feel free to express that as long as you do so in a respectful manner. I'm all for debate and the discussion of opinion, so there aren't many restrictions at the moment. Let's keep it that way, yeah?

Have fun and enjoy!

Lex Luthor: Man of Steel
A Review by Rebeccasaurus Rex

So, it's been awhile since I posted any new art in this journal. I have new art, I've just been incredibly lazy about scanning/photographing it for upload purposes. However, since I don't have any of my sketches prepared for everyone today, I thought I'd do something a little bit different instead.

Just in case any of you don't know this: my main focus in art school is comics/graphic novels. It is my dream to draw Western comics, specifically of the superhero variety. I've been into comics since I was around nine or ten years old but didn't become a legitimate comic nerd until I was around sixteen or seventeen. Nowadays, I read quite a few comics, although I'm still behind on some arcs I've been meaning to get around to. Anyway, I figured that since I love comics, some of you out there must love them too.

And thus, I bring you the first of my comic review posts. In these posts I will review a specific arc/series and, hopefully, will be able to inspire a few of you to investigate further.

Review - and very vague spoilers - beneath the cut!!! )

Just a quick one tonight, you guys.

Meet Mae Murrough, Gar's older cousin who works as a student teacher, tutor, and ghost-butt-kicker at Casper High. Mae is bright and bubbly and peppy and capable - essentially Gar's opposite. And yet somehow they remain extremely close, and whenever they're not at the high school they can usually be found hanging out together and getting up to ridiculous things.

Also, a reference of another character of mine with short hair, more for me than anyone else.

Merran seems to be spending more and more time looking fondly amused these days.

That's all, folks!
